Android and Blackberry 10 users can have a true external push-to-talk wireless button by using the BlueComm button or the Coda S

Here are the steps:

  1. Install Zello from the Play store or from your Zello@Work network.
  2. Pair the button device with your phone by going to Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings.
  3. Open Zello.
  4. Go to Menu > Options > Bluetooth PTT control device
  5. Select the device name in the Bluetooth PTT Control Device selector. A popup should appear indicating the device control has been activated. If you don't see it, you may need to power cycle the headset and repeat.
  6. Open the Talk screen in Zello (the screen with a big round button).

Now, the PTT button will work with Zello even while running in the background.

Set up Bluetooth for normal audio setup

  • From the bottom-left corner of the Zello talk screen, tap-hold and slide to the Bluetooth icon.
  • For push-to-talk button with integrated Bluetooth audio, please see Savox BTR.
  • For a wired speaker mic with true push-to-talk, please see Klein products.
