Why does my iPhone still play messages after I've closed it?

For users of iOS 12+, Zello will still play audio messages in real-time even after the app is force closed on the device. This behavior is related to a change in iOS 12+ which caused Zello to randomly close while running in background mode - a major problem for users who require Zello to be active at all times. 

As a workaround for this issue, Zello now allows push notifications to open the app, even when the app has been force closed.

Instead of force closing, use one of the following methods: 

• Set Status to Busy.  All messages will be sent and saved to History for later listening. 
• Set Status to Offline. You will still receive push notifications (if enabled) but no messages will be saved. 

You can change your Status from the talk screen at the bottom by toggling, or from the Main Menu using the Status option.
