# Call Alerts

Call alerts enable you to urgently capture the attention of a contact or channel. When you send a call alert, the recipient will hear a beep repeated every 60 seconds until they respond or dismiss the alert.
### Sending Call Alerts From the Talk Screen
You can send call alerts from the talk screen of any contact or channel. To send a call alert, tap the **bell icon **on the right side of the screen.
After tapping the bell icon, you will have the option to send a customized text message with the alert.
### Sending Call Alerts From the History Screen (iOS only)
On iOS devices, you can also send call alerts from the history screen with a channel or contact. From a history screen, tap the **+ **icon in the lower left corner of the screen. Select **Alert **from the menu.
