# How can I minimize battery impact from location tracking?

This article is written for: ✅ Zello Work  ❌ Zello Friends & Family.

Enabling location tracking for your Zello Work network will impact device battery life. By default, location report intervals are set to 10 seconds.

If you would like to optimize battery life with location tracking, you can change the location report interval through the management console.

To do so:

1. Go to Settings -\> Common -\> Location tracking
2. Choose a Location report interval
3. Click on Save and Apply

A higher interval will minimize battery impact but will decrease location accuracy of the map view. There is also an Auto (power saving) option for report intervals that can decrease battery drain by 50%.

The Auto (power saving) interval will poll locations based on the keepalive interval chosen for each operating system in your network. By default, keepalive intervals are set to 10 minutes for all supported operating systems.
