How to configure hotkeys in Dispatch Hub

Dispatch Hub users are now able to respond to messages using their keyboard, external microphone, pedals, map LMC microphones with HID commands, or other PTT equipment. They can set an external button to respond to accepted calls. 

Why is this beneficial?


Dispatch Hub users can save time and focus better by not needing to pull up Zello or minimize other applications in order to perform functions on Zello.

How to configure hotkeys (Push to Talk and Replay Last Message buttons)


  1. Click on Zello. A drop down menu will appear. Click on Hotkeys.
  2. You can assign hotkeys for the Push to Talk Button and the Replay Last Message Button. Click Assign Shortcut for the button that you want to assign a hotkey.
  3. Press the keyboard buttons that you'd like to use as a hotkey for that button, then press Assign.

How to configure hotkeys for contacts


You can set a hotkey to speak with a particular contact.

  1. Select Contacts.
  2. Click the three dots next to the contact that you want to set a hotkey for. Click Contact Settings.
  3. Click Assign Shortcut.
  4. Press the keyboard buttons you would like to use as the hotkey for this contact, then press Assign.

How to configure hotkeys for channels


You can set hotkeys to message particular channels.

  1. Select Channels.
  2. Click the three dots next to the contact that you want to set a hotkey for. Click Channel Settings.
  3. Click Assign Shortcut.
  4. Press the keyboard buttons you'd like to use as a hotkey for this channel, then click Assign.

How to Use Hotkeys


  • Make sure a call is active and selected in order for the PTT Hotkeys to work
    • To select the call, click Accept and Click on the active call cell
  • Receiving a message in another call does not change the call that is selected, it has to be changed manually
