Console setting to enable feature to silence messages

Your team can silence messages on-demand or set a work schedule to have your messages automatically silenced outside of work hours when the following console setting is enabled: Set a schedule to silence messages outside of work.

Where to find the feature to silence messages in the app?

The silence messages feature can be found in your profile settings when you tap on your profile photo. In your profile settings you’ll see the silence messages feature, which consists of a toggle to enable or disable silencing messages and the scheduling feature to set your work schedule.

Silencing messages on-demand

You can silence and unsilence your messages on-demand by enabling or disabling the feature’s toggle.

When messages are silenced, the toggle will be enabled and you’ll also see the “silence messages” icon on your profile photo. Your teammates will also see this icon on your profile photo to know that you have your messages silenced.

Setting a schedule to silence messages automatically

From your profile settings, you can access the scheduling feature by tapping “Schedule” and then enabling it from the “My Schedule” screen.

Once enabled, you can set your work schedule by selecting your work days and the start and end times. Your messages will be automatically silenced outside of your work schedule.

You’ll see in your profile settings when a schedule is set.

When messages are silenced, the toggle will be enabled and you’ll also see the “silence messages” icon on your profile photo. Your teammates will also see this icon on your profile photo to know that you have your messages silenced.

What happens when messages are silenced?

When your messages are silenced, messages won’t play live but they’ll still be saved in your message history.

Important notes

  • Sending a message while your messages are silenced will automatically place you in an “available” state and unsilence your messages. You must manually enable the toggle to silence your messages again.
  • Changing your status to “available” while your messages are silenced will also unsilence your messages.
